CallMiner is seeking a skilled, motivated SQL Database Administrator to join our growing engineering organization and partner closely with the existing team.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL Server and database systems with experience in clustering or other high availability strategies. This position will work closely with the development and QA teams to continuously improve the design, performance, reliability, scalability, security and architecture of our product suite. The candidate should be passionate about data and enjoy exploring various new technologies, solutions and integrations to enhance the capabilities of the engineering team.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, install, and maintain highly available clustered SQL Servers and Availability Groups located in remote data centers across multiple time zones.
  • Support daily operations including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, capacity management, provisioning, hardware and software configuration, patching, upgrades and performance monitoring/tuning in keeping with server and application best-practices
  • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of SQL Server and Windows Server to meet mission goals
  • Maintain the necessary documentation on systems and processes
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine the root cause

 

Required Skillsets:

  • Experience with clustered Windows infrastructure environment
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude
  • Understanding of highly available design
  • Ability to create and modify database objects
  • Experience in query testing and optimization
  • Solid understanding of relational database design
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams
  • Organizational, communications, and time management skills
  • Database security knowledge

 

Beneficial Skillsets:

  • Able to create comprehensive and accurate documentation
  • Windows scripting / Powershell knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in continuous integration techniques for SQL
  • Knowledge / Experience with other data platforms such as MongoDB, MySQL, etc
  • Experience with SAN configuration
  • Familiarity with requirements gathering, design, development, testing and deployment of applications as part of the Software Development Lifecycle
